As a registered dietitian nutritionist Cynthia is a true nutrition expert, trained to counsel healthy, active clients, as well as those with clinical issues. Sass is also highly educated. In addition to her bachelor’s degree in dietetics and master’s degree in nutrition science, she holds a second master’s degree in public health.  

Two decades working with clients one-on-one

 

On a daily basis Cynthia works with clients on-one-one through her private practice. As such, she keeps her finger on the pulse of what’s buzzing with consumers, including their questions, concerns, interests, barriers, what works, and what doesn’t. She specializes in coaching high performance individuals, including professional athletes, actors, musicians, CEO’s, executives, artists, and entrepreneurs. Her clients are true influencers who are highly motivated to optimize their personal nutrition, wellness, and longevity.

Professional sports nutrition experience

 

Cynthia was in the very first group of registered dietitians to earn the CSSD credential (Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics), which she has held since 2006. She has consulted for six professional sports teams in the NBA, NHL, and MLB, including five seasons with the New York Yankees, has worked with pro athletes in numerous sports privately, including pro tennis, golf, soccer, and more.   

Extensive media experience (go-to interviewee, writer, author, editor)

 

Sass has wide ranging experience on both sides of the media. She has been interviewed as an expert well over 4,000 times, and quoted in publications ranging from the New York Times to dozens of health and fitness magazines and websites. She has appeared on numerous national TV programs, and has been a regular radio and podcast guest. Sass is also an experienced writer and magazine editor. In these roles she has made many decisions about what to cover, why, and how. She was the full time nutrition director at Prevention magazine, followed by four years as the contributing nutrition editor at Shape, and is currently in her eight year as the contributing nutrition editor at Health magazine. In these roles she receives press releases daily from brands, and has a keen eye for what catches an editor’s attention, and how to make a brand pitch stand out. Sass is also a three time New York Times best selling author.

Plant-based nutrition expert and recipe developer

 

One of Cynthia’s primary specialties is plant-based nutrition science. She has also completed two plant-based culinary certifications and is a Certified Plant-Based Professional Cook. Cynthia has extensive experience developing plant-based recipes for her private clients, media publications, commodity boards, and food brands.
